"Quality Thinking Partners" is the specific terminology used at Fairfield Public School to describe knee-to-knee. The change in language helps focus students on the purpose of knee-to-knee which is to engage students in critical thinking and deep conversation with a learning partner. The word "quality" stems from our behaviour policy where we strive to be quality students in a quality class with a quality teacher. QTPs is supported by research into the role of rich conversation around texts which shows that engaging students in meaningful discussions around texts helps them achieve learning outcomes and be engaged as active participants.
